Now that was a party!!!! A great big thank you to all of our fabulous guests from Hamlet, Steve, Joe , Alejandro, Dean and all the RMS 2016 vendors and sponsors…
See you for the 4th Annual RMS on Sept 29 and 30, 2017!
The Rocky Mountain Smokeout is proud to welcome Hamlet Parades to this years event. Hamlet is a well known Cuban roller who for years has been traveling the world, rolling custom cigars at LCDH’s while also rolling regularly at La Casa del Habano in the Partagás Factory in Havana. His custom rolls are well known the world over and he was considered one of the best rollers in Cuba. In early 2015, Hamlet left Cuba with his family and began a new life in the United States with the help of Rocky Patel. It was with Rocky, that Hamlet was able to create his own cigar brand under the Rocky Patel name, and that cigar was showcased at the 2015 IPCPR.
Steve Ricker of Dominion Cigar has been a long time supporter of the Smokeout and we are thrilled to share his latest creation, the Black Lotus Maduro with everyone. Produced at Tabacos De Oriente in Honduras, also know for producing such fine cigars from Rocky Patel and Alec Bradley, just to name a couple. After several months of working on the project, and tweaking the blend that incorporated the finest Honduran and Nicaraguan tobacco, the Black Lotus was born.
We are so happy to share Dean Parsons’ Epic Maduro cigars featuring a Brazilian wrapper, Cameroon binder, and both Dominican & Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, the Maduro is a favorite among Epic fans. It provides the rich flavors Maduro smokers crave without overwhelming strength. Enjoy with a fine aged rum, and you will find Epic contentment!
Alejandro Turrent represents the fifth generation of the industry’s oldest and most esteemed family of cigar makers and tobacco growers. In 1880, Alberto Turrent I, emigrated from Cuba to Mexico’s fertile San Andrés Valley with a pocketful of Cuban tobacco seeds and founded the business that has become a cigar dynasty. Today, Alejandro is President and co-owner of Mexico’s largest cigar makers and growers of tobacco. Among the cigars for which the factory has become known are the legendary Te-Amo brands, A. Turrent, Revolution and Casa Turrent. The tobaccos grown by the Turrents on the family’s 2,000 acres are among the most prized in the industry, and are found in such prestigious brands as Montecristo, Macanudo, and Padron, to name a few. With the birth of his son, it has become safe to say there will be a sixth generation of Turrent’s in the cigar business.
Joe Bondi started in the Tobacco business in 1977, next year will be his 40th year in the industry! He began with Macdonald Tobacco cigar division and spent one year in the marketing and research area. After this he moved onto House of Horvath as the western regional manager. He then spent 5 years as National sales manager for Havana House. In 1996 he went out on his own and opened Bondele Cigar Co which introduced, imported and distributed brands such as Padron, Comacho, My Father, Alec Bradley, Villigar, Gran Habano, CAO and many more into the Canadian market. Two years ago he sold Bondele to Alec Bradley and is currently responsible for bringing the following brands into the Canadian market: Panama Man, Villigar, El Guajiro, Epic, Kristoff, Curivari, Espinosa and of course the entire Alec Bradley product line! Working with his son Justin Bondi, who has been around the industry basically his entire life, they have been able grow the business while maintaining a small family operated business. Joe obviously has many years’ experience in the industry whether it is on the front line doing sales or down in many of the factories creating blends and has gained a reputation in the industry as one of the most genuine and knowledgeable gents in the cigar world.
We are truly honored and excited to have Hamlet, Steve, Dean, Joe and Alejandro showcasing their cigars at the 2016 Rocky Mountain Smokeout.
